FAM and loved ones.
LOTS of updates, these last couple weeks have been craaaazy. First of all, I WENT TO THE TEMPLE!!!!!!!!! How my heart had been longing for the temple. And it was amazing. The spirit in that place is incredible, and not only this, but also when we go to the temple, we are literally participating directly in the salvation of souls. It’s awesome, and totally received some awesome answers there. Love that place.
Also, my favorite little investigator, Ester, told us that her mom is moving her to live with her grandma in Uruguay… We all literally sobbed together. It was a sad day. BUT, through it all, I felt the confirmation that she will continue strong, that it might even be for the best because maybe her grandma will authorize her baptism. So who knows, all I know is that God is good and His plan for us is better than any plan we could ever form ourselves.
But, the good new is that after I write this email, in about twenty minutes, we meeting Junior and Cassia at the Cartorio to mark their wedding so that they can get baptized!!!!! They are amazing and I am so excited. We are already making plans for their wedding 🙂
Also had a super dope study this week, totally received revelation, will write it for you guys:
There is a divine purpose in our suffering, and, if we endure well, there will be a divine reward. Our afflictions will be consecrated for our gain. If we want to be able to receive a divine reward, we will have to be refined and purified. And if we want to be refined and purified, we will have to pass through the furnace of affliction so that our impurities, our faults, our anger, our impatience, everything can melt away and leave behind the semblance of Christ. And then I LOVE this scripture: Romans 8:16-17 “The spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit that we are the children of God; And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ, if it so be that we suffer with Him (emphasis added obvs lol), that we may be glorified together.”
GENTE we literally have the potential to become joint heirs with Christ, the greatest being to be born on this earth, the Lord of lords, King of kings, the Creator, the Savior, the God of the whole earth, the Captain of our Salvation, on and on. We can receive all that He has, we can live forever with our Redeemer, “if it so be that we suffer with Him”. It is no wonder that Paul said (in the next verse), “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” We will be “abundantly victorious” “through Him that loved us,” even our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ.
THIS GOSPEL IS PRETTY COOL
Love you all. Sister Smith
